Hello friends! Remember me, Meg? It has been a hot minute since I’ve written a blog post and I’m SO happy to be back at it! Honestly, I was on the verge of quitting the blog altogether. As everyone knows, 2020 has been quite the year and I felt like I could never find the time to fully invest into the blog like I really wanted to. But, my closest friends encouraged me to make finding time to write a priority since it’s something I truly enjoy. Thank goodness for great friends! And also thank goodness for a wonderful hubby who spent a lot of daddy-daughter one-on-one time over the past few weekends so that I could completely redesign the blog! I hope you all love the new look!

Weekly Catch Up
In addition to a redesigned blog I thought it would be fun to start a weekly series called “Mondays with Meg”. Just a casual space for me to chat about all the things including what we’re currently watching on TV, clothing I have my eye on, the latest sales, how we spent the previous week, etc. I truly love connecting with you all on here, so feel free to comment and join the conversation on these weekly chats!
It is no surprise that the highlight of last week was Halloween! This year it was so much fun to dress Camila up and see all of her cousins and friends in their costumes. We were blessed with wonderful weather, so luckily we were able to visit family and friends outdoors and see everyone’s costumes from a distance. It was a great day for our little lamb and I’m sure it will only become more fun in the upcoming years!
What We’re Watching, Reading & Baking
Watching: We have been watching Sex Education on Netflix and it is surprisingly good! A friend recommended it to us and Brent and I are both really enjoying it. It is funny, yet also has some great, interesting storylines.
Reading: I just finished listening to The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory on Audible. It was a nice, lighthearted book.
Baking: Last week I baked chocolate avocado cookies using Del’s Cooking Twist recipe. I wasn’t crazy about the texture (I prefer a crispy cookie over a soft one), but Brent and Millie loved them! I used Hu Dark Chocolate Gems in the cookies, so there was no refined sugar, only coconut sugar. Use code “Meg15” to receive 15% off of any HuKitchen order.
I also made Simple Mills Vanilla Cupcakes for Halloween treats. They were beyond easy and I love that they are gluten free, dairy free, paleo friendly and plant based. They turned out great! I have also been told that the Simple Mills icing and brownies are delicious, so I will be trying those next.
Weekly Shopping Finds
T. Marie Designs Earrings: My friend Ashley Scribi shared these gorgeous bow and pearl drop earrings last week and I instantly purchased them. I hadn’t bought myself jewelry in a long time, so I’m very excited to receive these!
Mango Clothing 30% Off: Not only does Mango clothing have 30% off until 11/8, but they also just launched their new activewear collection! The colors of these leggings are SO good! I also purchased this rose pink cable knit sweater and I’m hoping it arrives before our family photos this week.
Dudley Stephens Fleece Drop TODAY at 9am CST: If I had to choose just 1 top to have in my fall and winter wardrobe a Dudley Stephens fleece would be the winner. It took me a year to take the plunge due to the price tag, but I haven’t regretted it since! They are classic, high quality pieces that are easily dressed up or dressed down. They typically sell out quickly on launch days, so I would suggest purchasing ASAP if your size/color is available. If this is your first time purchasing Dudley Stephens you can receive $25 off of your first order by using this link! (If the link doesn’t work feel free to email me at meg@lifeinamasonjar.com or DM me on Instagram and I can send you a personal link for $25 off.)
Meg & Marie 100% Profit Donation to a Family in Need: I try not to bombard my personal blog with too much Meg & Marie advertisement, but this week we are giving back to a family that is near and dear to my heart. On October 11th 6-year-old Emma Welp had emergency surgery on a brain bleed and it was discovered she has a stage IV DIPG (diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma) tumor. At this time there is no cure for this rare cancer and it is inoperable. I taught with Emma’s mom for 9 years and Emma’s grandma was my 3rd grade teacher. Meg & Marie will be donating 100% of the profit from all children’s clothing and accessory sales 11/2-11/6 to the Welp family (you can read more about Emma’s story on this Go Fund Me Page.)
Weekly Question
I was surprised at how many people I saw decorating for the holidays yesterday! I typically don’t decorate until after Thanksgiving, but seeing everyone else’s decorations has me throwing around the idea of starting a little earlier this year! When do you start decorating for the holidays?
