Another month with our sweet girl has come and gone! This past month Camila attended her first wedding, celebrated her daddy’s birthday, and went to her first library class. We were able to squeeze in some fun days before we started home quarantine due to COVID-19 and for that I am very grateful!

9 Month Old Baby Stats
Due to COVID-19, Camila’s pediatrician recommended we skip her wellness visit since there aren’t any 9 month immunizations. Luckily, we have the Hatch Grow Smart Changing Pad & Scale so we were able to weigh and measure Mila here at home to make sure she’s still on track. She weighs around 15 1/2 pounds (gained a whole pound this past month!) and is around 25.5in long. She is still in size 2 diapers and wears clothing size 6 months in most brands.

Baby-Led Feeding at 9 Months Old
This past month Millie really started to enjoy eating! We are up to three full meals a day and Camila now gets excited when she sees food! If you read my previous blog posts about baby-led feeding then you know there were some rough times when Camila refused to eat anything. If you are in the same boat, I encourage you not to give up. If our stubborn girl learned to love feeding herself real, whole foods then I have high hopes that your baby can do the same! She now stuffs her cheeks as full as possible and if it’s a food she likes there won’t be any left at the end of the meal. Here are the new foods she has eaten in the past month. If you’d like to see the full list of baby-led weaning foods Mila has eaten be sure to check out her 8 month blog post and view our Instagram stories to see pictures and recipes.
- Tomato Sauce
- Pineapple
- Lamb
- Hard Boiled Eggs
- Pancakes (egg, banana, oats & spinach)
- Butternut Squash
- Asparagus
- Lime
- Bread (Ezekiel Low Sodium)
- Mango
- Shredded Chicken
- Scrambled Eggs
- Blueberries
- Wheat-Quinoa Mini Muffins (great recipe, but we later found out Mila is allergic to quinoa)
- Guacamole
- Lentil Burgers
- Quinoa Flakes “Oatmeal” (this was the second quinoa rash that helped us realize which ingredient in the muffins was the culprit)

9 Month Old Baby Milestones and Favorite Things
Camila’s new found love for food has definitely been the biggest change this past month. She also has her bottom two teeth popping up and communicates more every day. She understands the signs for “milk”, “drink” and “eat”, but hasn’t figured out how to sign them back to us quite yet. This week she started nodding her head up and down as if saying “yes”, but this seems to be more of a fun activity for her rather than actually meaning “yes”. She still hasn’t quite figured out how to crawl or stand on her own, but she’s getting there. Her favorite things continue to include bath time (now that she sits on her own we use this bath mat), story time, dancing while mama sings, snuggling while sleeping, food and milkie!

9 Month Old Baby Sleep and Schedule
Along with the changes in Camila’s eating her daily schedule has been the other big change this past month. Our days are completely packed between nursing, eating, cleaning up, nap time and repeat. Here is our “ideal” daily schedule in case you’re looking for something for your little one:
- 7AM: Wake & Nurse
- 8AM: Breakfast
- 9AM: Nap
- 10:30AM: Wake & Nurse
- 12PM: Lunch
- 1PM: Nap
- 2:30-3:00PM: Wake & Nurse
- 4PM: Nurse
- 5:30PM: Dinner
- 6:30PM: Bathtime
- 7PM: Nurse
- 7:30PM: Bedtime
- 4:30AM: Nighttime nursing session (the goal is to have this session gone by next month!)
As all parents know, baby schedules rarely go as planned, but this is a rough idea of our days. If her morning and afternoon naps are very short (under an hour) then we still do a third nap around 4PM and push back her bedtime a little due to this nap.

Looking Forward To…
The End of COVID-19. We are supposed to be leaving for our first family vacation to Florida in 2 days, so we’re pretty bummed that it is no longer happening. Obviously, there are many more important things to think about regarding COVID-19 and I won’t get into all of them. I will just continue saying prayers that everyone remains safe and healthy and I ask that you all please follow the stay-at-home orders as much as possible. It’s the least we can do for those most at risk!
More Time at Home! In an attempt to look on the bright side, I’ve always been a homebody so I’m trying to enjoy this time at home. I’m working on being productive, soaking up quality time with Camila, bake up yummy treats, etc. Maybe I’ll even find some time to get a workout or two in. Maybe…
Our Wedding Anniversary! On April 1st Brent and I will celebrate 3 years of marriage! He is scheduled to have the day off work, so I’m looking forward to a day at home celebrating with our family of 3.
Camila’s First Easter! It’s looking like Mila’s first Easter isn’t going to be anything like what I had envisioned, but we will make the best of it! Even if it’s just the three of us hunting Easter eggs in our backyard, I know we will have a great day.
With the “new normal” that we’re now living, month 9 has started off very interesting! Be sure to check back next month to see what other craziness life has in store for us!
