The past month with Camila has been my favorite yet! We had a wonderful holiday season along with some fun visits from friends and play dates. A few weeks ago Mila and I attended a mommy and me workout class, which she really enjoyed (and it kicked my butt)! We also have started calling her “Millie” from time to time. This was actually one of the baby names we discussed before she was born, but never planned on using it with Camila. It will be interesting to see which name, “Camila”, “Mila”, or “Millie”, she will prefer most as she grows up!

7 Month Old Baby Stats
Camila weighs around 14lbs 3oz and a few weeks ago she was 24 1/4 inches long. She is in size 2 diapers and has started fitting into some 3-6 month clothing.

Introducing Baby-Led Weaning
Mila started eating solid foods when she reached 6 months adjusted age. The first week went very well and then suddenly she started refusing to eat anything at all. We decided to do the baby-led weaning method of feeding. If you’re unfamiliar with this method basically it is allowing the baby to feed him or herself real foods (not purées) from the start. There are certain foods to avoid and special ways to prepare the foods to make sure it is safe. I wanted to be as prepared as possible, so I took this Baby-Led Weaning Online Course before starting and I’m so glad I did! I felt much more comfortable introducing real foods after having all of the information on food safety, gagging, choking, etc. I would highly recommend the course. The goal is to feed Mila 100 different foods before she turns 1 year old. This might be a little tricky with her dairy and soy allergy (and the fact that she is currently refusing to eat anything), but we are going to try! Over the past week we have fed her sliced avocado, roasted sweet potatoes, bananas, whole grain rolled oats, roasted cauliflower, fried eggs, and quinoa. 7 Month Old Baby Milestones and Favorite Things
We have seen so much growth and development in Mila over the past month! She is now fully sitting on her own (with a few head bonks here and there). She pushes up and tries to crawl, but hasn’t quite figured it out yet. And as I previously stated, she has started feeding herself (as much as a 7 month old baby can). She seems to laugh more and harder every day and loves babbling and making all sorts of noise. She continues to be very interested in the world around her and if we are out in a public place she usually doesn’t make a peep, just looks around and takes it all in. Then, when we get home, she will babble all about it. We’re thinking we might have a shy girl! She has also picked up on the fact that if another person comes to our house there’s a chance mommy and daddy might leave her alone with that person. She is definitely not a fan of this!
Camila continues to love books and has started to take an interest in some new toys including these dishwasher safe stacking cups, this tummy time mirror and Montessori flashcard set, and this baby crawl toy. She gets very excited for bath time and Brent and I often have to change our clothes afterwards because she kicks and splashes so much! She still enjoys tummy time, but her new favorite position is definitely sitting up.
Looking Forward To….

Valentine’s Day! There is nothing sweeter than a pink holiday with a baby girl!
Birthday Parties! We have multiple birthday parties coming up over the next month. It’s always so fun to get together with all of Mila’s 7 girl cousins!
Introducing More Foods! I can’t wait to continue trying out new foods and recipes with Camila to see what her favorites are!
Thanks so much for reading! If you have also done baby-led weaning I’d love to get some of your food and recipe suggestions. Or advice on how to get a baby to eat when she is refusing to even try. There is always something new to learn on this motherhood journey!
