We’ve had a wonderful past month with our Mila Girl! From birthday parties and baptisms to her first Halloween and a wedding shower, month 4 was a busy, but great one!

5 Month Old Baby Stats
At the doctor’s office last week Camila weighed 12lbs 8oz and was 23 1/4 inches long. Still a little tinker, but she gained a pound and an inch in the last month! She’s still in size 1 diapers and size 0-3 month clothing.

Camila Anne’s Favorite Things
Camila’s favorite things haven’t changed much over the past month. She still loves talking, singing, dancing, bath time, tummy time, teething toys, and books. She gets very excited for “book time” before each nap and nighttime! She also loves what we call “shaking her booty” where we hold her up and wiggle her booty. This almost always guarantees a giggle! She enjoys reaching for things and touching different textures, especially daddy’s beard. She is also easily distracted, which means there can be no TV on or talking when Camila is eating (she’s a true princess!)

Car Seat Tips for Babies
As I have previously shared, Camila is not a fan of the car seat. She is still not the biggest fan, but we seem to have made some slight improvements. I wanted to share a few tips, just in case other moms out there are also struggling. We took down the car sun shades so that she can see outside the windows. These sun shades worked great, but our girl is very curious and loves to see what’s going on outside. We also added this car seat toy and this Taggies Crinkle Toy to the car seat and she loves them! We bring the crinkle toy inside and use it all day long. Even with the toys, it seems what makes the biggest difference is timing. If we go for a ride immediately after she wakes from a nap then there is typically less crying than if we go for a ride around nap time. Because, of course, Camila doesn’t like to fall asleep in the car (or anywhere really…)
Christmas Gifts for Babies Aged 0-6 Months
If you’re Christmas shopping for a baby or new parents some of our most loved products over the past 5 months include the Baby Bjorn Bouncer Chair, Baby Bjorn Toy Bar, Crate and Kids Baby Activity Chair, Skip Hop Grow & Play Activity Gym, Solly Baby Wrap, Hatch Baby Rest Sound Machine, and Ergo Omni 360 Carrier. I was hoping to put together a gift guide and include so many more wonderful items. But, let’s be real, I haven’t even started my own Christmas shopping yet, so there’s no way I’m going to have time to put together a gift guide! #FirstTimeMomProblems

5 Month Old Baby Schedule
We have somewhat settled into a daytime schedule over the past month. It consists of eat, play, wind down (diaper, book, sleepsuit, sound machine), sleep, repeat. She typically takes two 30 minute naps a day in her crib (yes, only 30 minutes) and then I will wrap her in the Solly Baby Wrap or the Ergo Omni 360 Carrier for her third nap of the day in hopes that I can get an hour and half or two hours of napping out of her. Thank goodness for baby wearing! If you have a baby with reflux I cannot recommend it enough.
Is Camila doing better sleeping on her own? Nope, not at all haha. I can’t wait for the day that I can write an update and say our sleep situation has changed. Actually, this past month was even harder than the previous ones as we hit the dreaded “4 month sleep regression”. And it hit us hard. We’re hoping this passes very soon.

Looking Forward To…
Thanksgiving! There is nothing better than the holidays with family. We are so excited to have our baby girl with us to celebrate this year!
Christmas Events! Again, the holidays are simply the best. We have so many fun events coming up including the Christmas Bazaar at our church, Christmas cookie baking day with all of the girls in my family, and the start of family Christmases. I can’t wait for Mila to experience her first year of these holiday traditions!
Thanks for reading our monthly update! Now, it’s time for me to start my Christmas shopping. If you have any “must haves” for babies aged 6-12 months please leave me a comment or send me a message. I’m looking for any gift suggestions for our Mila Girl’s first Christmas! Happy Holidays, friends!
