Camila turned 3 months old on Saturday! This month I’m only 4 days past the date when writing the blog, so that’s an improvement!
3 Month Old Baby Stats
We were at the doctor’s office this week and Camila is just short of 10lbs. She’s still a little peanut, but she’s growing! She is now 22 inches long and has finally graduated from newborn diapers to size 1. She can also now fit into most clothing sized 0-3 months, which means I can finally dress her in more of the cute clothes hanging in her closet!
Camila Anne’s Favorite Things
Much like last month, Mila’s favorite things include bath time and having books read to her. We have read the book Baby Faces so many times that I couldn’t take it anymore and caved in and bought many other books from the Indestructible series including Hello, Farm and Beach Baby! She loves the big pictures and bright colors and I love the fact that they’re rip proof and washable! She still loves listening to music, but now seems to prefer mom’s singing, despite my terrible voice. Her favorite song to smile and dance to is “Old McDonald” and her favorite song to fall asleep to is “You are my Sunshine”. No joke, I probably sing this on average 100 times a day. As always, sleeping on daddy’s chest is still one of her favorite things!

3 Month Old Baby Reflux
Unfortunately, her battle with reflux has gotten worse lately. We were told it seems to get worse between 3-6 months, so we still have a long road ahead of us. It’s very frustrating because she is constantly waking up from sleep to burp or spit up and then it’s difficult for her to get back to sleep. We saw a GI specialist this week and we’re debating testing out reflux medications to see if they help her at all. If you have experience with these medications we’d love to hear how it went for you and your baby.
Baby with Dairy and Soy Allergy
I have officially been dairy and soy free for 6 weeks! I honestly wasn’t sure if I could last that long, but seeing my baby in pain was enough motivation. Mila hasn’t had any additional bloody stools, but still has mucousy stools and pain now and then. We’ve been told that it can take a full 8 weeks for a baby’s gut to heal so we are hoping these symptoms occur less and less frequently. Luckily, I have found some great dairy substitutes and Chef Brenty has made some delicious recipes that I plan on sharing soon!

3 Month Old Baby’s Daily Schedule
For the most part, Camila is on the same daily schedule that she was at 2 months old. Yet, on most days it seems to be more consistent and she is also awake longer, which is so fun! Typically, she eats every 3 hours during the day and we have gotten her feed time down to around 30 min (yay!). Usually she will eat around 6:30AM, finish around 7:00, play until close to 7:45, nap for an hour or so, and repeat. Yet, this is a very rough schedule and it is constantly fluctuating. The GI specialist we saw wants us to add in additional feeds during the day to try and help her grow at a more rapid pace, so it looks like we will be adjusting once again.
We are also still waking her up at nighttime to eat. We just started letting her go 5 1/2 hours from her first feed at night, so we can get one sleep span of around 4 1/2 hours. New mamas, hang in there. I remember the first month not sleeping longer than 30 minutes to an hour at a time. As they all say, “it gets better”!

Looking Forward To…
Camila Anne’s Baptism! Our sweet girl will be baptized in a few weeks. I can’t wait to enjoy the day and celebrate this event with our closest family and friends.
Visiting Daddy’s Work! Brent’s 5 year anniversary at CEFCU is coming up next week and if all goes well we are planning on dropping in that morning for a little celebration.
Baby Giggles & More! We are still waiting to get our first true laugh out of Mila. She has been talking and interacting so much more lately, so we’re hoping the giggles come soon!
